Michael Bradley’s Borussia Monchengladbach didn’t have the a very good Sunday. Despite picking up an early goal against Hoffenheim, Bradley’s squad lost 3-2. Poor defensive positioning – and two red cards – cost ‘Gladbach 3 points. Still, USA manager Bob Bradley should have been pleased by the result, as his son displayed a skill that could be useful to the National Team. Both ‘Gladbach goals originated from a Bradley free kick.

On each occasion, Bradley the Younger used a pinpoint pass to find a teammate in the box. One of the deliveries traveled almost the entire length of the pitch before landing at a teammate’s feet. As a whole, Bradley didn’t have an outstanding game, completing only 21 of his 33 attempted passes, but those perfectly weighted free kicks should inspire his father to design set pieces that take advantage of this useful skill.

It's very calm over here, why not leave a comment?
