Edson Buddle Keeps Scoring, Pushing for World Cup Spot

Los Angeles Galaxy v Kansas City Wizards

Last night the Los Angeles Galaxy beat the Philadelphia Union 3-1, with World Cup hopeful Edson Buddle supplying an assist and two of the three tallies.  Buddle, who only has one career appearance with the USMNT, has now tallied 9 goals in only 6 games.  If the 28 year-old continues to score, US manager Bob Bradley may include him in the USA’s pre-World Cup training camp.  He would likely be competing against Herculez Gomez for a roster spot.

Besides his prodigious strike rate, Buddle has another mark in his favor: familiarity with Landon Donovan.  The US superstar, Buddle’s Galaxy teammate, has setup many of Buddle’s strikes (including one last night).

Below are highlights from yesterday’s match.
