- Steve Cherundolo has been named captain of Hannover 96. ‘Stevie C’ is one of only a handful of Americans to be named captain of a European squad. To FFG’s knowledge, only Claudio Reyna, Jay DeMerit, and Kasey Keller had previously been elected skipper, though Carlos Bocanegra did occasionally captain Fulham.
- Sir Alex Ferguson believes Bob Bradley would make an excellent European club manager. The Manchester United boss gave Bradley his vote of confidence for the open Fulham vacancy.
- Freddy Adu may be on the move again. Soccer by Ives is reporting that Adu is on trial with Switzerland’s FC Sion and unlikely to stay with his current club, Aris Salonika.
