Gringos to Watch: Sep. 9th – 15th

June 23, 2010 - Tshwane/Pretoria, Guateng, South Africa - 23 JUN 2010: Maurice Edu (USA). The United States National Team defeated the Algeria National Team 1-0 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane/Pretoria, South Africa in a 2010 FIFA World Cup Group C match.

Gringos to Watch is a new FFG feature in which we highlight upcoming matches that can be caught stateside on TV. Here’s a list for the next round of fixtures.

  • Maurice Edu and Rangers will take on Manchester United next Tuesday in the opening round of the Champions League group stage. Edu has featured in all three of Rangers’ league matches this season, so he’s a likely participant in next week’s clash. The game airs at 5 EST on FSC.
  • Stuart Holden and Bolton face powerhouse Arsenal this Saturday. A few Arsenal starters have picked up injuries recently, so Bolton have a slim chance of an upset. Check it out at 10:00 EST on FSC.
  • Tim Howard will welcome his old club Manchester United on Sunday, as Manchester, and former Everton standout Wayne Rooney, will journey to Everton’s Goodison Park. Fox Soccer will show the match on FSC Plus at 7:40 EST.
  • Jozy Altidore hasn’t received much playing time for Villarreal in 2010, but perhaps he’ll sneak onto the pitch against Espanol this coming Sunday. You can (hopefully) watch him on GolTV at 1:00 EST.
