Today, US Soccer announced the roster for next week’s friendly against Brazil, a match that may be Bob Bradley’s last chance to prowl the sidelines as USA’s manager. Here’s the squad:

Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan, Tim Howard

Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra, Jonathan Bornstein, Steve Cherundolo, Clarence Goodson, Chad Marshall, Jonathan Spector

Midfielders: Alejandro Bedoya, Michael Bradley, Landon Donovan, Maurice Edu, Benny Feilhaber, Jermaine Jones, Sacha Kljestan

Forwards: Edson Buddle, Robbie Findley, Herculez Gomez

Notable absences: Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Oguchi Onyewu, Jay DeMerit

DeMerit and Altidore are looking for a new place to hang their cleats, so their absence is to be expected. Dempsey and Onyewu are probably being given extra time to rest, as their European seasons will kick off just a few days after the Brazil match.

FFG is a bit surprised Schalke 04 is letting Jermaine Jones participate given he hasn’t played for them in almost a full year, but it will be great to see how he fits into the US squad.

We’ll post a full preview next week.

I’m sure Jones is a great player, but it’s too bad he’s not an attacking mid. We’ve already got enough defensive mids.
