USA Names Provisional World Cup Roster: No Charlie Davies

The following players have been chosen to participate in the United States’ pre-World Cup training camp beginning this Saturday, May 15th.

GKs: Tim Howard, Brad Guzan, Marcus Hahnemann

FBs: Jonathan Bornstein, Steve Cherundolo, Jonathan SpectorHeath Pearce

CBs: Jay DeMerit, Oguchi Onyewu, Carlos Bocanegra, Clarence Goodson, Chad Marshall

Mids: Michael Bradley, Maurice Edu, Ricardo Clark, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Stuart Holden, Benny Feilhaber, Jose Francisco Torres, DaMarcus Beasley, Alejandro Bedoya, Robbie Rogers, Sacha Kljestan

FWDs: Jozy Altidore, Brian Ching, Eddie Johnson, Herculez Gomez, Edson BuddleRobbie Findley

Manager Bob Bradley will use 2 friendlies – May 25th (Czech Republic) and May 29th  (Turkey) – to evaluate the squad before submitting his final roster to FIFA on June 1st.

Once in South Africa, the USMNT will play one more exhibition, June 5th (Australia), before their first World Cup match on July 12th. The US opens against superpower England.
