Who Should Start at CM with Michael Bradley? (Poll)

USA v Mexico

For the better part of a decade, the United States’ center midfield pairing was Claudio Reyna + X. After the Premier League star retired in 2006, Michael Bradley locked down a starting role, but no one else has managed to merit the other spot. Once more, a US manager needs to find an ‘X.’

Bob Bradley has 5 options (6 if you count Stuart Holden, but he’s most likely to be used on the wing). Check them out and then, using the below poll, let us know what you think.

Maurice Edu – Poised for a breakout 2009, injuries curtailed his international availability. Edu is now healthy, in-form, and able to present the best combination of size and passing ability.

Jose Francisco Torres – A Longview, TX native, Torres slings passes with ease and has the technical ability to dribble around multiple defenders. However, he has to make up for his small size with perfect defense positioning

Benny Feilhaber – The Brazilian-born Feilhaber may have played himself out of a wing position last Saturday, but his composure on the ball could still be useful in the middle of the pitch. Benny may wind up the jack-of-all-trades midfielder, filling-in wherever is necessary.

Ricardo Clark – Clark is the most defensive of the lot and never shies from tackles, and while he is limited offensively, he does possess a booming shot.

Alright gringos, let’s hear it – who should start with Bradley the Younger?

Torres’s offense swayed me. I think Clark is a close second though.

Is maurice related to freddy? Have they ever played together/against? In a one v one, who would win?
